A good Samaritan who attempted to break up a fight was left with a broken jaw.

The 28-year-old went to intervene in an attack on a man who was being kicked and punched near the Lidl store in North Street, Worthing.

Several men in their 20s were seen to be involved in the assault which took place at around 11pm on Saturday August 8.

Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident and are also hoping to identify the man originally being attacked.

Officers would also like to speak to his friends, who left the area with him.
