A MAN has been arrested after a car was set alight in a car park.
The 40-year-old has been released on bail, but police are appealing for witnesses following the fire in Forge Road, Crawley at around 8.50pm on Sunday, April 17.
Officers were called by West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service who were on the scene, as the fire was thought to have been started deliberately.
A silver Vauxhall was completely burnt out, and a black Vauxhall parked nearby was also damaged.
PC John Miles said: "Fortunately nobody was injured in the blaze and we would like to hear from anyone who saw something suspicious in the area before the fire started.
"Witnesses can email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting reference 1273 of 17/04."
“Alternatively, you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 crimestoppers-uk.org.”
A 40-year-old man from Crawley has been arrested on suspicion of arson and released on bail until June 23.
