Bar steward charged with drink driving after crash which closed A27
A MAN has been charged with drink driving after a car collided with a lamp post and ended up in some bushes closing one of Sussex’s busiest roads.
Anil Sidhu, 31, a bar steward, of Cowick Road, London, has been charged after the collision on the A27 near Lewes on Saturday.
Emergency services were called to the Ashcombe roundabout on the A27 at Lewes at 7.05am on Saturday where a Ford Focus had collided with a lamp post and had ended up in some bushes.
The road was closed for until midday while the lamp post was made safe.
He will appear at Brighton Magistrates' Court on May 9.
