A WOMAN was injured after being run over in a hit-and-run.
The 39-year-old victim was using a pelican crossing near the junction with High Street in Newhaven when she was hit by a red Seat.
The incident happened Tuesday, May 3, at around 6.50pm.
The driver of the car did not stop and the woman was left with a cut to the back of her head and bruising.
PC Andy Smith, of Sussex Police, said: "This collision happened on a fairly busy stretch of road and I would urge any witnesses who have not yet come forward to get in touch."
