A GRADUATE has scooped a national award for her artwork.
Sophie Barber, who completed her degree in fine art practice at Brighton University, won the Platform Graduate Award run by the Contemporary Visual Arts Network.
She will receive a 12-month professional development and creative mentoring package along with a £2,500 bursary to support her development.
Sophie studied at the Hastings campus and finished last year
The prize represents the best young artistic talent across the South East.
Sophie said: “Thank you to my tutors at Sussex Coast College for all of their support. Also thanks to Rosie Cooper and the team at De La Warr Pavilion for selecting me.
“I’m excited for what this year has to offer and making the most of the award and am looking forward to getting back in the studio painting.”
