PEACEHAVEN Youth Under-12s have been crowned Ambition National Five-a-Side champions after a dramatic final in Manchester.

The boys travelled north and battled it out with two Irish teams, a team from Newcastle, one from Wigan and another from London.

Unlike the previous rounds goals were hard to come by, but Peacehaven managed to win four of their five group games, losing a game 2-1 to one of the Irish teams who they eventually met again in the final.

After finishing second in the group, they progressed to the semi final where they ran into a capital city outfit who they had beaten in the regional final in Basingstoke.

A 2-0 win put them into the final where they met their Irish foes and defending champions from the group stages.

Having seen their game plan in the group stages, Peacehaven were confident they had what it took to turn them over. They produced their best football of the day and created a string of goal scoring opportunities against a team which boasted two Manchester United trial players to win 1-0 and lift the trophy.

The team will be moving up to the under-13 age group next season, and anybody interested in joining them should contact manager Jason Edwards on 07703 734561.
