YOUNGSTERS are getting their voices heard after an acapella group proved to be a big hit.

Performers from Ariel’s Acapella group have been in demand this summer singing at events.

The music loving children live in the Steyning and Worthing area and were invited to perform at Jolesfest, held at Jolesfield Primary School, Partridge Green and at St Paul’s Art Centre, as part of the Worthing Art Trail at the end of June.

The Ariel Acapella group is an off-shoot from Ariel’s Steyning Academy, which teaches more than 70 children drama, dance and singing every Saturday morning at Steyning Grammar School.

It is the only extra-curricular acapella group in the area and after less than a year it is going from strength to strength. Tutor Katie Silverson said: “I am so impressed and proud of our Ariel Acapella group.

“The students worked so hard to master their complicated vocal harmonies and it was great to be able to perform at local events and demonstrate what they had learnt, the feedback from the audiences was fantastic.

“Both performances were well received with festival goers at Jolesfield enjoying both modern and old classic songs, all given the special Ariel treatment.

“This enabled the children to demonstrate close harmony singing and the wide vocal talents of the whole group. St Paul’s Art Centre made a stunning venue, with perfect acoustics for unaccompanied singing, treating members of the public and art lovers to an afternoon to remember.”
