Students got bark to basics as they took a trip to the woods to learn new skills.
The Year 9 Blatchington Mill School students enjoyed their Woods Trip where they were shown how to build fires from scratch, build their own shelters and even how to gut a fish.
And the braver pupils were set the challenge of eating a fish eye.
For those with a more delicate palette, pizza was made in clay ovens and the campfires were the place for evening songs and storytelling.
Miss Hackett accompanied the trip and said: “I would like to say this was a great experience for staff and students.”
