STUDENTS teamed up with their African counterparts to produce a musical on slavery and freedom.
Thirty children from Braebrun School in Nairobi, Kenya, joined 70 youngsters from Downs Junior School in Brighton at the Rose Theatre in Kingston.
The world premiere of the show named Albatross – Wings of Freedom was presented by Chicken Knitters as part of the International Youth Arts Festival.
Set in the late 1880s in Zanzibar, East Africa, this musical tells the story of the epic struggle to eradicate the black market slave trade being perpetrated along the East coast of Africa.
Performances ran from July 23 to 27.
