PRESTON Nomads Cricket Club is very proud of its Colts set up and 2014 has been yet another successful season for the club’s youngsters.

The club, based at the Spen Cama Memorial Ground in Fulking, currently has 167 Colts members playing in league and cup teams for the Under-9s all the way through to the Under-16s.

There is also a blossoming girls section which has regular T20 matches throughout the season.

Friday evenings are the pivotal session when they take over the picturesque grounds for nets and general practice.

Each team has its own manager who looks after both the administration and match day duties.

But in overall charge is Colts manager Andy Garth and secretary Claire O'Brien.

Mr Garth said: “It’s been a phenomenal season where all our players have been involved in league and cup successes.

“Our Under-13s, under the guidance of Jason Robinson, deserve a special mention for progressing into the National section of the ECB Cup until being narrowly beaten by Broadstairs.

“The best thing for me is the large number of boys who regularly turn out for our Saturday league teams and make a difference.

“We have also been able to run a fifth team peppered with talented Colts.

“The club are always on the lookout for more youngsters from all over Sussex.

“We can offer organised winter nets at the County Ground, superb home facilities at Fulking, excellent coaching staff and full league, cup and festival schedules for 2015.”
