The average price of homes in five city streets has topped the £1 million pound mark.

Average property prices in each of the roads has topped the huge figure, according to the annual Mouseprice Most Affordable Street Rankings report.

Topping the list of the city's priciest streets is Montpelier Villas, Brighton, where property prices average £1,206,600.

Tongdean Avenue, in Hove, was named the second most expensive, with an average price of £1,143,700 and Roedean Way, Brighton, was third with a £1,071,900 average.

Homes in Tongdean Road, Hove, and Withdean Road, Brighton, also carry average price tags of more than £1 million.

However the Mouseprice report - which is calculated using Land Registry Price Paid Data - also highlighted more affordable options in the city for residents trying to get their foot on the property ladder.

The most affordable five streets to live in all come in at an average of under £113,000 for a property, with Eastern Concourse, in Brighton's Marina Village, the cheapest at £75,000.

Monarchs View, Portslade, has the second least expensive properties, followed by South Road Mews, Woburn Place and Kingswood Street, all in Brighton.
