The man who died as a result of an horrific chainsaw accident yesterday has been named.
Scott Donnison, of Hollingbury Park Avenue, Brighton, slashed his own neck while working high in the branches of a tree at a private property in Park Gate, Hailsham.
It is believed the 28-year-old tree surgeon cut his neck after the chainsaw bounced back off a branch, killing him instantly.
Paramedics reached the man on a firefighters' aerial ladder but were unable to save him and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Firefighters recovered the body.
The incident is being investigated by the Health and Safety Executive and Sussex Police.
