AUDIOLOGY services at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust have received national accreditation in recognition of the high quality of care they provide.

The Improving Quality in Physiological Services accreditation is given to services that can demonstrate the highest levels of quality of service, care and safety for patients undergoing physiological diagnostics and treatment.

Both adult and paediatric services at the Trust have received the accreditation, making ESHT the first Trust in the south east to have full IQIPS accreditation across both its Audiology services.

It has taken 22 months to achieve and involved the team in self-assessment and external peer assessment against a set of 26 standards, followed by a two-day accreditation visit by assessors.

The areas assessed come under the categories of patient experience, safety, facilities, resource, workforce and clinical criteria.
