A MAN who smashed the motor-home he was driving into a parked car while almost four times the legal drink-drive limit has been jailed.

Nicholas James Green, 37, of Brooks Green, Horsham, appeared before Crawley magistrates charged with drink driving, driving without insurance and driving without a licence following a crash at Barns Green, Horsham, on November 20, 2015.

Emergency services were called after the Ford motor-home Green was driving collided with a parked car, coming to rest in a hedgerow.

He was found to have 130 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - almost four times the legal limit of 35mcgs.

Green, who pleaded guilty to the charges against him, was jailed for 16 weeks and banned from driving for six years.

He will remain disqualified until he passes an extended driving test. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80.

Green’s arrest was one of many made during Operation Dragonfly, which resulted in numerous drink or drug drive convictions across the county.
