A BARN has been destroyed in an early morning blaze.

The site in Deer Park, Henfield, went up in flames at around 1.05am today.

Around 30 tonnes of hay and straw were incinerated in the fire.

There were no injuries to report.

A spokeswoman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said four engines were called to the scene.

She said the barn was "100 per cent destroyed".

Firefighters tackled the blaze until 4.15am, and are now returning to the barn to carry out a fire investigation.
