THE Scouting movement has been alive and well in Sussex for more than 100 years.

We have some of the best camps in the country and groups from across the UK come here to learn everything from woodcraft and first aid to campfire cookery and orienteering.

Today’s main image is from the 1960s and shows Scouts receiving badges from their superiors.

It is amazing that all these years on the uniform is pretty much the same.

They still have the same shirts and woggles and still spend their weeknights working towards a variety of badges.

Are you one of the young Scouts pictured? If so get in touch, we would love to know more about this group.

Our second photograph today shows the Queen Mother on a royal visit to a hospital in Sussex.

There is no more information on the caption so we don’t know where it is.

However, there must be some readers who recognise one of boys on crutches in the front row.

Get in touch if you can help.
