Good to read that Alex Casper Cline, local conceptual architect, was cleared of being rude to the local Hove MP last week .

In Brighton Magistrates’ Court, Judge Ikram cleared Cline of causing harassment, alarm or distress by threatening, abusive, insulting words, behaviour or disorderly behaviour.

He (Cline) admitted saying to the MP: “You’re a coward . If you call people criminals they will act like criminals.” Labelling theory meets situationism head-on.

Cline is a serial activist and indeed the Crown Prosecution Service had already dropped a charge made by the local MP’s political assistant in June last year of “assault and battery with glitter.

Interestingly, the CINECITY programme has a film about Alex Casper on Saturday, November 30 at 1.30pm in Duke’s at Komedia called “Rust & Glitter”.

The blurb states “In the wake of the UK’s anti-squatting legislation, Alex Casper – activist and conceptual architect – reflects on his experiences as a squatter, while questioning the effectiveness of Britain’s housing system.”
