With reference to the article regarding missed rubbish collections, I would like to renew my request for recycling wheelie bins.
The present system of recycling boxes is not fit for purpose. The slightest breeze means paper and light plastics are strewn around the streets, making a mess.
This is Brighton Breezy, after all.
As recycling collectors now put all recycling into their own wheelie bin, there is no need to sort the rubbish into separate boxes. A recycling wheelie bin would also hold more, and the regularly missed collections wouldn’t be such a problem.
Other authorities, including those in West Sussex, already provide wheelie bins, which are collected weekly.
Come on, Greens – help us to keep our neighbourhoods clean.
