As far as graffiti in Brighton goes, most of it is quite pointless.
It says nothing to anybody about anything and is completely a-political, which I fear reflects the mindset of the so-called artists.
As far as Kensington Street is concerned I worked for Komedia for several years and I am very familiar with the graffiti in this area, which is some of the best in Brighton and is visited regularly by tourists, locals and students.
A day doesn’t go by without seeing hoards of people looking up photographing the graffiti or sometimes using it as a backdrop for modelling and such.
When it comes to push and shove, housing will and should always take priority over graffiti.
There is always plenty of space around town for more graffiti and streets that welcome attention.
