I am amazed at the sheer irresponsibility of many residents of the Shirley Drive, Woodland Drive, Dyke Road area who place large stones and wooden spikes in the Brighton and Hove City Council-owned verges outside their homes, presumably to stop vehicles parking there.

This is so dangerous and could easily cause serious injury to pedestrians and cyclists, particularly after dark.

It is an offence under the Highways Act 1980 to do this and the Council is required by law to remove them, so why haven’t they? It is an accident waiting to happen.
