AFTER a long wait an agreement has finally been reached to put CCTV cameras in ambulances.

Credit must go to unions and South East Coast Ambulance Service staff who have worked through the issues to finally come to an agreement which will surely be for the benefit of all.

It seems almost non-sensual to think lifesavers should need protecting, often from the people they have been sent to help.

This historic new agreement will not change things over night.

But it will be a valuable tool to ensure those who do abuse emergency staff will be brought to justice.

Paramedics have enough to worry about when racing to life-or-death situations.

Hopefully attacks either physical or verbal will be one thing that will be soon removed from their minds.
