WE HAVE launched our EU Referendum coverage today in a bid to inform and engage people amid campaigns between the leave and Remain teams that have struggled to do so at times.

At The Argus we will not be taking sides.

We will be putting information in front of people hoping they can make that all important vote on June 23 with the knowledge needed to make an informed decision.

The leave and remain campaigns have been difficult to interpret at times. One side will use Second World war veterans to describe how they fought for a unified and peaceful Europe.

The other side will say they fought and gave their lives so that we would not lose the right to make our own rules.

But we will be cutting though the propaganda to cover the issues seen as important to Sussex, like we have on pages four and five today.

This will be the most important vote in decades and we want everyone to exercise their right to vote.

It's vital that young people sign up.

They, more than anyone else, will be the ones who reap what we all sow with our decision on whether to stay in or our of the European Union.

It is important that the young get to vote. It's much more important for their futures.

Whether it is trade, or tourism or one of the other three issues we discuss today, the vote could have a massive impact on Brighton and Hove, Sussex and the rest of the country.

That is why we have a huge responsibility to become informed and take part in the vote.
