SO THERE we have it.

The Albion are up.

It’s been a long time coming but what an amazing achievement.

There are so many people who deserve credit but of course none of it would have been possible without the millions from owner and chairman Tony Bloom.

It hasn’t all been about the money though.

It’s also been the self-belief and commitment from Tony that has seen us through.

We all owe him our thanks.

Managers make a huge difference to any club and wow what an impact Chris Hughton has made.

In many ways he has made THE difference and from day one the city believed in him and thought he would take us to the Premier League.

And he has!

Thank you Chris.

The players – obviously – have had a great season. How fantastic our supporters have been with The Amex packed for every home game.

This is more than just about football.

It’s about the extra millions of pounds that will now be felt in the city when the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool come to play us next season.

In the words of Warren Morgan: “Speaking as council leader, promotion to the Premier League could mean an economic boost for the city running into the hundreds of millions, and puts Brighton and Hove on the sporting map globally.

“But as a lifelong fan, all that matters to me is that we are going up.”

Great words.

So on behalf of the city, The Argus proudly salutes Brighton and Hove Albion FC.

Now for the Premier League ...
