I live opposite St John The Baptist’s Church in Kemp Town, Brighton.
Last Friday, I saw a notice saying it had applied for planning permission to install gates on its front porch.
I can only presume this is because some homeless people often stay there to escape the (now increasingly bitter) cold.
They have always been as nice as pie to me.
Can I ask the church a simple question: What would Jesus do?
