It saddens me greatly that Brighton and Hove Albion, so often proclaimed as a bastion of unanimity and a power for the good of the community, now finds itself airing its dirty linen in public – however cathartic that might be for the individuals concerned (The Argus, December 2).

Undeniably, the supporters are united behind both Tony Bloom and Dick Knight.

During our 12 long years of campaigning for a new stadium, my familiar war cry and slogan was, “Together, we will win!” That remains as true today as it ever was.

Our club has overcome enormous adversity and is stronger for it – battles are a thing of the past. The time is right to draw a line in the sand. I and many other supporters fervently urge the chairman, life president and board of directors to move forward together and lead the club with distinction and honour. The alternative is simply unacceptable.
