Sophie Gallagher (The Argus, January 9) highlighted the terrible plight of angora rabbits, whereby the rabbit’s fur is ripped from its skin in order to produce the necessary fibres for clothing.
She went on to say that sometimes these animals are left in distress in cramped cages.
Her comment piece ended by stating that consumers need to act as some shops are still resisting the move to pull their angora products.
But how can this be done?
I first read about this before Christmas and got rid of my angora clothing as I couldn’t bear to have it in the house.
I now check all my labels to make sure angora isn’t listed.
If anyone isn’t convinced, there are some video on the internet which show these poor rabbits screaming.
