I read the letter entitled “Educate schoolchildren about every stage of animal slaughter” with bemusement (The Argus, April 14).
I do not find any argument as to why this letter writer feels that “schoolchildren should be educated about how intensive farming works, including detail on farrow crates, tail docking, teeth clipping and castration”.
I don’t see the point of caring about animal slaughter as animals are here for our own use. We are the superior species.
Nor do I see any reason for not using other types of animals, such as stray cats and dogs, for human food consumption.
Dog stew is full of protein and delicious, tasting like strong beef.
It is enjoyed in many countries, including China.
Cat stew, although I have not yet tried it, is also said to be delicious and full of protein.
With an increasing human population, surely we should be using more animals?
Surely we should only remind children at schools that we humans are the superior species and at the very top of the food chain.
