I read with interest of the lady who on Brighton Station suddenly heard the strains of a piano being played – a tune which had great memories for her.
When I saw the ‘Please Play the Piano’ story in the Argus some weeks ago, I thought I would love to do that.
Two weeks ago I did just that – lovely experience – even if the majority of people weren’t listening!
With my daughter we arrived at the station mid afternoon just to stand there and listen to the everyday noise!
I sat down and played one lovely classical piece, six to eight minutes. A few people were around the piano – they clapped – and then they got up and just walked away – strange!
I was thrilled I had the chance to do something like that for free. To my granddaughter I said: “I have just played to the biggest audience in my life.”
