In his column Adam Trimingham overlooks the fact that UKIP also take votes from Labour (The Argus, November 12).
The Rochester by-election will probably see UKIP gain their second MP, so only a fruitcake can ignore the Farage effect.
It is a pity we as a nation are not more mature when it comes to image. After all Nigel Farage is no Adonis.
Germany, an EU giant, has a plain yet brilliant leader.
In Portslade, Labour voters have hitherto been taken for granted. Now with ‘four-party politics’, perhaps politicians may start listening to ordinary people.
The recent strike at Cityclean reminded one of the perils with the hard left.
So the best solution for Labour would be for Ed to form an alliance with the Lib Dems.
