It is a shame that Boots may have to move from their current premises, especially since they have had a presence in the Clock Tower area for a very long time (Argus March 17).
The staff and customers of that shop may be adversely affected if suitable premises are not found for Boots and the adjoining shops.
It would be useful to have a John Lewis store in Brighton.
However, it would be preferable to have this in the London Road area where it could be linked in (as a ‘planning gain’) with affordable housing.
I thought that the council administration was supposed to be encouraging local shops and affordable housing.
