DUE to the algae problem at Brooklands Lake I was absolutely heartbroken to hear that more birds have died unnecessarily in this lake due to the ignorance of Worthing Council.
Birds are protected by UK law (Wildlife and Countryside Act) and it is my belief that by Worthing Council not taking action regarding the lake, they are knowingly sending birds to their death.
The cruelty inflicted on these birds is terrible.
I will be contacting the RSPB investigations section and urge others who share my view to do the same.
Incidentally, I understand killing or injuring a swan carries a £5,000 fine or six-month prison sentence.
Question is, who is responsible? An individual?
Or Worthing council as a whole?
