SO Brighton and Hove City Councillor Alan Robins is “in the dark” about the fall in visitor numbers. Permit me to enlighten him.
Council-created road congestion and lack of car parking. Narrowed roads, reduced lanes, astronomical parking fees and over-zealous parking wardens.
I have lost count of the number of people who have told me that they will never come to Brighton again because of the state of the roads and parking.
And those who tell me they much prefer to go to Worthing, Horsham or Eastbourne to go shopping or visit the theatre.
I suppose the Greens will suggest that visitors travel by train… good luck with that.
