THANK you for your excellent coverage of the Brighton Marathon that took place on April 9.
As a city we should once again be patting ourselves on the back for a fantastic event.
The support from both the spectators and volunteers was second to none.
As a participant I am hugely grateful to both.
However, the organisation of the event needs to be addressed if we are to ensure it remains a race for our city to be proud of.
To run out of fundamentals such as water and cups (especially on such a hot day) is unforgivable.
The St John ambulance team did a magnificent job looking after the runners who were suffering.
Whilst we should rightly be celebrating the success of the event, it is important not to gloss over or ignore issues with the event which must be addressed if the race is to continue to be popular and enjoyable.
