IT WAS another miserable day for commuters yesterday as faulty trains and signalling problems saw hundreds of services delayed.
The disruption comes just weeks before rail fares are set to rise above inflation again.
Train companies must do more to improve the service.
They cannot keep treating their customers as they do – while at the same time asking them to pay more.
Unfortunately most commuters have no choice but to get the train to work. If there was any other way, they would surely take it.
January will see prices rise again for all customers. The train companies must make sure that when they hike up their prices they also raise standards and performance.
