John Brackpool's funeral

The funeral service for a West Sussex soldier killed in one of the bloodiest day's fighting in Afghanistan took place in his home town of Crawley. Friends and family remembered Guardsman John Brackpool, 27, of Prince of Wales's Company, 1st Battalion Welsh Guards, who died from a gunshot wound following a battle with insurgents near Lashkar Gah on July 9. Members of the Royal British Legion lined the path leading to St John's Church in the town centre.
