City College Blanc de Blanc fashion show
Art and design students from City College Brighton and Hove strutted their stuff and showed off collections made entirely from white paper. As they walked down the catwalk at the college’s Blanc de Blanc fashion show and struck a pose, their collections looked more like pieces of art and sculpture than items of clothing. Visits to the British Museum and Brighton Museum helped inspire the young designers to create outfits, some of them featuring head pieces based on mechanical devices such as car parts. Not only did the young people design the costumes, they also managed the event, raised funds and did the makeup. The hall was packed with friends, family, staff and students to raise money for Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice.
