The Argus: Sarah Arnett designed this masthead for The Argus as part of our celebration of the Snowdogs art trail.

Snowdogs-by-the-Sea is a charity arts trail taking place in Brighton and Hove between September 24 and November 27, 2016.

The project will be the biggest of its kind in the area and is hoped to raise tens of thousands of pounds for The Martlets Hospice.

More than 40 giant sculptures of the popular children’s character the Snowdog – which appears in the sequel to Raymond Briggs’s story The Snowman - will take to the city’s streets each with an eye-catching and unique design.

Businesses and organisations sponsored the dogs and local artists were tasked with bringing their designs to life on a giant pooch-shaped canvas.

The project, which follows in the footsteps of other success events in other cities, is anticipated to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors.

Schools have decorated snow puppies which will be on display in the city’s museums at the same time. The project is run by Wild in Art and The Argus is the official media partner.
