  • "GP is absolutely spot on. The rest is indeed there. I genuinely believe we are a good striker away from being the best team in the division. I believe that it will be a double bonus when this good striker arrives because not only will we have his goals, we will have the hold up, link player that will enable Cms to be the deadliest marksman in the Championship.
    I'm sure that with the sale and wages saved of players like Vincelot, Sparrow, Harley and Vicente to name but a few, we will have the funds to buy and pay a top striker.

Gus Poyet admits Albion should be scoring a lot more goals.

The Seagulls blew a host of chances in their 1-1 draw at home to Bolton.

Proud Poyet felt his team were “fantastic” and said: “It’s not only the domination.

“It is the way we played, the way we stopped them playing, the quantity of chances.

“The penalty goes down as a triple chance.

“Hitting the post, the goalkeeper making saves. There is nobody to blame.

“Of course you get disappointed with plenty of things that can go another way but that is football and you need to accept it.”

Poyet felt the share of the spoils was unfair on his side.

He added: “It is unfair on everybody but the one who gets it worst is me.

“I pick the players, I pick the way we play, I convince them it is possible.

“It has been proven we are better than most.

“But there is a part I cannot do. I cannot take penalties, I cannot head the ball inside the six-yard box and I cannot tap in from three yards. That is individuals.

“It is a difficult part of the game. That is why top scorers are so expensive.

“At the moment we should have the top scorer in the division by far with more goals than Glenn Murray and Charlie Austin but we don’t.

“The rest is all there.”
