Kyle McFadzean admits he would love to play for Sheffield United in the future but is determined to help Crawley pile on the misery for his boyhood club tomorrow night.

Reds travel to Bramall Lane bidding to inflict a seventh straight League One defeat on the Blades and keep them rooted to the bottom of the table.

McFadzean spent eight years coming through the youth ranks at United but walked out at the age of 19 after making just one substitute appearance for the first team. The 26-year-old will achieve his lifelong ambition of playing at Bramall Lane tonight - having missed last season’s 2-0 victory due to illness – and hopes to play there on a regular basis later in his career.

McFadzean said: “I’m not going to lie, I would love to play for United. I think the gaffer (Richie Barker knows that.

“They are the only team in League One I would probably move to. I would love to go back up north because I miss my family. My mum is getting older so I want to be closer to her and see my little nephews grow up.

“But I’ve got two years left at Crawley and I’m happy here so whatever will be will be.”

Meanwhile, defender Joe Walsh has been included in the Wales Under-21 squad for their European Championship qualifiers against Lithuania and San Marino on Friday October 11 and Tuesday October 15 respectively.

It means Walsh will miss Crawley's game at Bristol City unless their opponents make a request to the Football League for the match to be rescheduled. The Robins are likely to be without four players - Marvin Elliott, Wes Burns, Derrick Williams and Greg Cunningham - due to international call-ups and boss Sean O'Driscoll has hinted he will ask for the match to be put back before Saturday's deadline.
