All six Eastbourne riders were paid for doube-figures as they ended the season with their biggest win of the year.

Eagles battered Belle Vue Aces 60-33 at Arlington tonight to finish eighth in the ten-team Elite League.

They rattled in five 5-1s against an Aces side who lost their former Eagles No.1 Matej Zagar after just one race with a knee injury.

Zagar had won heat one and, in his absence, Craig Cook was the only visitor to offer sustained resistance.

But even he was on the wrong end of a 5-1 from Eagles’ two outstanding riders over the course of the year – Bjarne Pedersen and Cameron Woodward – in the final race of the season.

Reserve Timo Lahti was paid for 13 points and both he and impressive Mikkel Michelsen beat Cook.

Just as impressively, Eagles recorded no scoreless rides while Aces had the last-placed rider in all 15 heats.

Ales Dryml won two successive heats out of the blue when the contest was beyond Belle Vue but the second of those summed up their night, coming when his partner Kevin Wolbert was on a tactical ride and ended up last.

Eastbourne: Pedersen 12 (5), Nilsson 11+1 (5), Michelsen 10+2 (5), Gustafsson 10 (5), Lahti 9+4 (5), Woodward 8+3 (5), L.Dryml r/r.

Belle Vue: Cook 14^ (5), A.Dryml 7 (7), Wolbert 5^ (6), Ostergaard 4 (7), Zagar 3 (1), Zetterstrom 0 (4), Nieminen r/r.
