Albion look like losing out in their bid to borrow striker Dexter Blackstock from Nottingham Forest.
The Argus understands he is poised to sign instead for Championship rivals Leeds.
The Seagulls were hopeful of clinching the deal but Leeds were keen on Blackstock in January when Neil Warnock was manager.
Warnock's successor Brian McDermott has resurrected their interest and Blackstock is believed to be bound for Elland Road.
