Sussex have completed their third winter signing by handing a two-year contract to Ashar Zaidi.

Zaidi impressed on trial with the county towards the end of the season when playing against Yorkshire and Durham after a four-year break from first class cricket.

He said: “It has all happened so quickly that I have to pinch myself to make sure it is not a dream. To go from playing league cricket to signing for such a big county like Sussex is something I could never have imagined."

All-rounder Zaidi joins fellow new boys Steffan Piolet and Jon Lewis at Sussex.
