Orlandi out of Foxes clash

The Argus: Andrea Orlandi is still troubled by a knee injury Andrea Orlandi is still troubled by a knee injury

Albion will be without Andrea Orlandi again for the visit of leaders Leicester tomorrow.

The Spanish midfielder made his comeback from a knee operation as a second half substitute at Bournemouth last Saturday but was not in the squad for Tuesday's 2-1 home defeat against Barnsley.

The Argus revealed on Wednesday head coach Oscar Garcia's concern about a knock Orlandi suffered to the same knee.

Those concerns have persisted, with the knee still swollen and Orlandi resigned to needing rest and a possible return visit to the specialist who performed the surgery.

Will Buckley came through his second half return from hamstring trouble against Barnsley unscathed. Meanwhile, it is unclear whether long-term injury victims Leo Ulloa (foot) and Kazenga LuaLua (knee) will be considered fit enough to be on the bench.

Not good news, he is very much the play-maker, A different option to Liam as the play-maker as he can be very creative and without him 'Spanish Dave' looks a lost soul. The others will have to step up, but they have been for a few weeks now,

I actually don't see this as bad news, as the team has been getting results playing a more simple football, and this could be excite against the Foxes.

Hope its not to bad for Orlandi as he is without doubt a very skillful player we miss.
Off topic but i think these players coming back from long term injury will need time to settle into the team, Tuesday evening being a prime example, Bridcutt should be playing for us yes and he performed well but some of the team ( Ward, Conway, Agustien and Lita) have not played with Liam thus leading to some confusion as to who is doing what?
Each game that goes by throws someone else back into contention for a place in the team so we need to be careful we dont disrupt the play to much or else we could suffer come the end of the season.
2-1 Albion tomorrow.Lita to get winner.

I'm surprisingly confident tomorrow, and i agree with the last message - 2-1 to us. I'll be doing a score double - this along with P****e 0 Cardiff 2 - come on the Blues, sorry, Reds....

Such a shame about Orlandi, he was head and shoulders above the rest of the team in pre-season. It looked like Agustien has slimmed down to something resembling a footballer now, so perhaps he'll step up in Orlandi's absence. Ulloa is the one we need back though, Conway is actually a terrific crosser of the ball and I'm sure Leo will thrive on his service. Lita may as well go back to his parent club (Swansea) his loan has been a complete waste of wages.

A blessing in disguise, we need a tough competitive force tomorrow, Orlandi is too lightweight and will get knocked off the ball by Leicester, trying fancy stuff isn't the answer when you're about to get kicked up in the air. Too hit and miss for me, we can't afford to carry passengers against the league leaders.

Perhaps Orlandi could have a rest and come and play on loan for us at Palace? His knee will then have time to heal properly as he won't even touch the ball in midfield with our tactics.

Let's hope it's not too serious and Andrea is back soon. These things happen I'm afraid but we have able players to step in so it's not all doom and gloom. Andrea might disagree though. At some point would like to see both Liam and Rohan on the pitch at the same time.UTA

If his knee is swelling up after playing then my guess is another trip to the surgeon, he could be out for some time, real shame, quality player, technically our best perhaps.

Tony, I realise that my posts might be misinterpreted. I suggest you read them again. I'm not happy at Palace. It was a big mistake for me to go to a tin pot club like them. What is really galling is that I have Palace fans like Thewithdeanyears; Ringtone and sussexram giving me their two bobs worth every five minutes. My team selections have become a nightmare. I wish they would stick to BBS

We were hustled out of it in midfield against Barnsley.Agustein improved the midfield when he replaced Lopez against Barnsley,he looked hungry and his physical presence will be much needed against Leicester.Ince must play a part too,he is a great tackler and header of the ball.O.G. has to get the balance in midfield right where the game will be won and lost.

Thank you ringtone. I have never been called clever before. A tactical genius and natty dresser yes, but never clever. It is good to receive such praise from the Palace faithful. Big game tomorrow for Brighton. Oscar Garcia phoned me this afternoon for some advice. I suggested he should only pull Orlandi off at half time if he asked him to. We couldn't chat for long as I have a defeat against Cardiff to worry about.

Can't wait for ulloa and lualua to get back to add some more attacking power!
Barnes, however having scored some brilliant goals for us, doesn't have the same ability as ulloa when it comes to holding the ball upfront!
