Leo Ulloa is back on the front line for Albion as they chase rare Boxing Day success.
The big Argentinean starts in attack in place of Ashley Barnes in the lunchtime kick-off at Charlton.
His return to the line-up for the first time since suffering a fractured metatarsal on October 1 is one of three changes.
The others come in midfield as Keith Andrews and Andrew Crofts replace Rohan Ince and Kemy Agustien.
Andrea Orlandi, who has not started a game since the opening day of the season, returns to the bench.
Orlandi has been troubled by knee swelling and has made just one substitute appearance, at Bournemouth almost four weeks ago, since August.
Albion: Brezovan; Bruno, El-Abd, Upson, Ward; Andrews, Bridcutt, Crofts; Buckley, Ulloa, David Lopez. Subs: Kuszczak, Calderon, Dunk, Ince, Agustien, Orlandi, Barnes.
