Former Albion striker Sam Vokes has signed a new long-term contract with Burnley - the club pursuing Ashley Barnes.
Vokes, who had a loan stint with the Seagulls, has signed a deal until the summer of 2017.
Burnley, currently second in the Championship, have made a £750,000 bid for Barnes.
They are expected to increase their offer during the January transfer window.
Barnes would be competing at Turf Moor with Vokes and the prolific Danny Ings, who is likely to move to the Premier League in the summer if Burnley are not promoted.
