- Full-time: Albion 1 Doncaster 0
- Rodriguez starts for Albion
- Ince returns, March starts
- Ulloa scores on 75mins
- Sharp sent off
Roll on Tuesday - thanks for joining me this afternoon
Ultimately a deserved win for Albion thanks to Ulloa's goal but for 75 minutes it was frustrating. Ulloa got the sponsors' MOM vote but March was the best player in my opinion. Doncaster's Khumalo was booked in stoppage time - forgot to add that.
FT: Albion 1 Doncaster 0
Obika on for Rodriguez
With four minutes remaining Doncaster were reduced to ten men when Sharp caught Greer with a poor challenge and then pushed the Albion skipper in the chest
Ulloa booked for a foul on Furman
Lopez comes on for March with ten to go
Stephen Ward crosses from the left and ULLOA heads home the opening goal
Goal disallowed. Ulloa taps in from LuaLua's cross but the offside flag goes up
Duffy shoots over for Doncaster, then a Rodriguez shot is beaten away at his near post by Johnstone
Now Ulloa heads over from an inviting cross by Rodriguez
LuaLua fires over and Ulloa sidefoots into keeper's arms from a corner as Albion begin to create some chances
Husband, fortunate not to be booked early on, is cautioned for kicking the ball away
March has gone into a central position following the change with LuaLua on the left and Rodriguez moving to the right
LuaLua on for Orlandi
The visitors threaten again as Brown cuts the ball back to Coppinger who shoots straight in the arms of Kuszczak. The fans are calling for LuaLua
56mins: Chance for Doncaster as Sharp is left unmarked from Coppinger's cross but he heads wastefully wide
March continues to be the one most likely to unlock the Doncaster defence
49mins: Ulloa, on the turn, shoots low into the arms of Johnstone
Second half just about to get under way ...
Doncaster sub at half-time, Quinn for Tamas at right-back
Albion have had much the better of the first half but no goals to show for it and, in fact, not too many clearcut chances. They have stretched Doncaster and delivered a number of good crosses into the box without ever testing keeper Johnstone.
That's half-time: 0-0
Meite is now booked for the visitors for pulling down Ulloa 35 yards from goal
Doncaster's Chris Brown is booked for a late tackle on Matthew Upson
31mins: Best chance of the game so far as Ward crosses low across the face of goal and March, at full stretch, just fails to get on the end of it
March and Ince have given Albion a real 'lift' - sorry for that!
22mins: Speculative curling shot from Ulloa from 20 yards is on target but comfortable for keeper Johnstone
There was a half-hearted appeal for a Doncaster penalty for handball but referee Ward was having none of it
It has been a good start by Albion but nothing to show for it yet. The youthful legs of Ince and March have given the team a real loss after the loss at Watford
Ince is already looking strong on his return from injury
A good cross from Ward on 9 minutes is headed wide of the target by Ulloa
An Orlandi cross is headed narrowly past his own post by Husband, who was early fortunate not to be booked for a foul on March
Lively start by Albion, getting crosses into the box early
The match is under way ...
Albion will be kicking towards the north stand in the first half.
The teams are on their way out now ...
Five minutes to go until kick-off today - don't forget this blog is bound be a three-minute reporting delay. I will also be tweeting as it happens though at @HowardGriggs
I'm expecting a great reception for Doncaster assistant-manager Brian Horton - the captain when I watched my first Brighton game as an eight-year-old in 1976
Home debuts then for Stephens and Rodriguez, who also makes his full debut. It is also a full league debut for Solly March
Doncaster team is: Johnstone; Tamas, Meite, Khumalo, Husband; Coppinger, Furman, Keegan, Duffy; Sharp, Brown. Subs: Quinn, Cotterill, McCullough, de Val, Peterson, Stevens, Maxted.
The Doncaster team news is that captain Paul Keegan is fit to play and Billy Sharp starts up front
A strange day weather wise - sun is shining at the moment but we had a horrendous downpour earlier. Could be one of those days
The Albion team in full is: Kuszczak, Bruno, Greer, Upson, Ward, Ince, Stephens, Orlandi, March, Ulloa, Rodriguez. Subs: Calderon, Dunk, Lopez, Agustien, LuaLua, Obika, Brezovan
So David Rodriguez makes his full debut for Albion as one of three changes. Rohan Ince also returns and Solly March makes his full league debut.
