Captured - the moment which put the contest beyond Oscar's men

The Argus: Chris McCann scores Chris McCann scores

This is the moment which sent Albion to their fourth home defeat of the season.

Chris McCann’s header finds it way in five minutes into the second half.

His strike ultimately proved to be the difference as play-off contenders Wigan won 2-1 at the Amex.

McCann is the third Wigan player from the left, with his back not fully visible in the shot.

It was the first time the Seagulls had conceded two goals at home since Barnsley won 2-1 at the Amex in early December.

Albion had conceded just one goal in five home league matches – and that a hotly disputed penalty - before today.

Can't blame the defence , they have carried us all season, we missed 4 really good chances, we must be on course for ending season with no current player other than ulloa on more than 5 goals..
The real point is obika looks lost at this level, let's hope pushing Leo to keep taking the battering he takes won't kill his style.

Wigan punished our mistakes and we couldn't hit the target more than once, everything else that was good sadly counts for nothing. Glad the game on Monday means no time to dwell on it.

A good game compared to some this season. Wigan took their chances and we didn't takes ours. That is the difference at all levels of football. They had many premiership names but I did think we gave the ball away a lot. Never mind. Amex is still an amazing stadium and seeing the bloke in the NW who starts all the singing is worth £20 per match. Bit unfair to have a pop at the non-singers saying "you should have gone to the theatre!". Not everyone has a big gob!!!

Finishing is the difference between us and the teams above us. Albion are a good side but Wigan showed that little bit of quality at the business end. Let's not be downhearted though, Oscar and his men have performed admirably given our injury problems this season. Our other top strikers (CMS & WH) haven't even been available for a single game this season and we are 8th.

Unfairly today the Ref offered us nothing but free kicks againsts plus failed to notice McCann "piggy backing" our defender for second goal. (Check it out!) When ever Ulloa does like wise its cancelled out immediately!
