Boss John Gregory has reiterated his desire to sign Matt Tubbs on a permanent basis at the end of the season after the striker earned Crawley a 1-1 draw at Swindon Town last night.

Tubbs swept home an equaliser ten minutes from time to cancel out an own goal by Joe Walsh just after half-time and extend Crawley’s unbeaten run in League One to five games.

The 29-year-old has now scored four goals in as many games during his loan spell from Bournemouth and 62 in total for Crawley in 82 appearances.

Gregory said: “I want to keep him and I think Matt would like to stay as Crawley is like his home but we’ll have to wait and see.

“If he carries on playing like he is there will be a few more teams interested in him in the summer and Bournemouth might not want to let him go either.

“He’s a natural goalscorer and when you have one of them in your team you don’t want to let them go.”
