Albion celebrate the only goal of the game

Albion clung on for a precious 1-0 win at Millwall today.

And debutant Jesse Lingard played a part in the success.

Lingard was nudged over by home skipper Danny Shittu for the match-deciding penalty in the 39th minute and David Lopez calmly sent David Forde the wrong way from the spot.

Leo Ulloa had earlier sent a header too close to Forde but the Seagulls were rarely fluent going forward.

The second half was mainly about defensive steel as Millwall pinned them back for long periods.

Jermaine Easter hit the bar from close range but Albion held on for the win.

Nice clean sheet. Good result, and keeps us in the mix.

Lopez earns the praise today, I've been one of those disapointed with his form so far this season but glad today he was on the pitch for the spot kick.
Defended well and got the rub of the luck for a change with them hitting the bar.
Onwards to next Saturday against the team we stuffed in the cup, let's hope for more of the same and go for the throat in this one! Bump up the goal difference and then Arry's lot Tuesday, they too are on a bad run and back to back home wins will put us in the playoffs. UTA

It would be good to here from someone who went particularly on the set up with Lingard playing!! Looks like we were fairly fortunate.

Forest and QPR are being drawn right back into the mix. If we can win both our next two home games and go on a nice little run we will be right amongst it.

Really feel the Brighton faithful can make the difference with loads of noise. Come people give it your all. God I love my club!

It's looking like Leicester and Burnley. I would now say that all other 4 places are up for grabs. All getting pulled back down into mix. Hopefully QPR miss out altogether. :-)

Was at the game - poor match but great result. We were marginally better side in the first half but did get a soft penalty. God knows why Shitu made contact with Lingard. Lingard tried hard and has pace but was a bit lost (which is not unexpected). He started on the left but did switch flanks occasionally - would like to see him play closer to Ulloa . Thought Stephens and Bruno had good first half with Upton again very good. Under pressure a lot second half but they were poor up front. We didn't create anything second half but defended well.

Sums it up accurately.
