Will Hoskins inched his way back towards first team contention for Albion tonight.

The striker played the whole game in a 1-0 defeat for the under 21s against Swansea at Lancing.

Hoskins had previously made two partial appearances for Simon Ireland's youngsters after a year out with knee damage.

Out-of-favour midfielder Kemy Agustien also featured as an over-age player against his former club as Albion were beaten by a 33rd minute goal from Gwion Edwards.

Right-back trialist Tom Leggett from Southampton prevented them from falling further behind with a goal-line clearance early in the second half before he was replaced after 69 minutes.

Another trialist, Connor Hunte from Chelsea, was substituted after 50 minutes.

Albion: Walton; Leggett (Hunt 69), Horncastle, Rea, Chicksen; Monakana, Richards, Agustien, Hunte (Starkey 50); Hoskins, Muitt. Subs not used: Wray, Deen, Harris.

Come on Will, this is the end of your run of bad luck. Now you can show us what you are capable of and grab a deserved place in the first team squad.

Great to watch on YouTube. Agustein had a 40 yard shot. Hoskins walked through 90 minutes. Monakana was the brightest inf a not overly illuminating display overall. Hopefully better to come tomorrow.

To say Hoskins Inched his way back into first team contention is a bit of an understatement IMO more like a leap forward. Can’t say the same for Kemy unfortunately. He looked up for it first half and clearly has Vision and skill in abundance but faded later on.

I was there tonight and it seems the DS have the same problem as the first team no shots,Agustien wouldn,t get a regular game in the DS even if he was the right age,Monakana? looked quite good in the first half,,Hoskins did what he had to do,last 90mins lots of running twisting turning.Centre back looked good ,Chicksen looked good, the rest average,
BUT the good news is there was no falling over or pulling shirts the game was played at a fast tempo and in a good spiit
WHICH begs the question when do these players learn to cheat ,pull shirts and fall over feining injury and conning the ref ,opefully never

Another step forward for Will.
He is a class act and what we need at the moment. A player who knows where the goal is.
I just pray we get to see him in the first team for an extended period. UTA

Good on ya for going to watch.

Perhaps you could advise as to whether Messrs Garcia and/or Jones were there too.

Thank you.

How did the Saints lad do? Their academy is what we should be aiming to match when Lancing opens.
